Sheffield Wednesday WFC travel south this weekend as they take on Luton Town in this weekend’s Northern Premier League match.
The Owls will be in high confidence after last weekend’s 2-2 draw at Aston Villa and welcome back Leanne De Silva and Rachel Skeemer.
With last week’s point, Manager Liam Kelly has admitted he knows how many points he believes are needed to stay up but chose not to disclose them. "Four points out of a possible nine since the turn of the year is a good return, that, in this League, is top five form. But we still need more points, this is the business end of the season and that's all that counts. I have a rough idea what will be needed and where ever they are attainable we'll move heaven and earth to get them."
"Luton is a massive match, and it'll be hard, they’re a good physical team, like to get in your faces, and our players need to prepare for that. But we're in good form making massive strides against all odds and if we can keep this momentum and team spirit going it could be an interesting ending, but whatever the case we're going to enjoy the next five weeks"
In other news Sheffield Wednesday WFC are delighted to announce the appointment of Scott Evans as Liam Kelly's Assistant Manager
Evans met the players last week and was on the bench for last Sundays 2-2 draw at Aston Villa, and was more than impressed with the talent and desire of the players
"I'm delighted to be joining up with manager Liam Kelly and staff at Sheffield Wednesday. Having known Liam for a number of years I was eager to get involved as his assistant and I've already been impressed with the quality in the squad. We are already planning for the future here, the set-up and foundations are being put in place to build a professional environment to develop our players and take this club onto the next level. The journey has begun and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead!"
Evans is also joined by Ben Severns on the clubs technical staff as the new goalkeeper coach.
