With a crippling injury list and results not going Wednesday's way, it is obvious to see that The Owls need some fresh faces in to help the squad.
Allen has recently been reluctant to put any more money into the team until fan's group Wednesdayite sell back their shares, worth nearly £300,000 to the chairman.
But now the leisure tycoon is set to dig deep again to help Paul Sturrock - just as he did for the signings of Adam Proudlock and Steve Adams.
Unfortunately for Sturrock though, there's only a few players available and it seems that a number of teams are chasing the same people.
The Wednesday manager though is confident of having a few new faces for the difficult Cardiff game on Saturday - hopefully in the defensive and midfield areas.
