Bruce, on loan from Birmingham City and son of current Blues boss Steve looked impressive in his first games for the Owls before getting sent off against Huddersfield and was back on the bench for the clash with Stockport at the weekend.
But now the defender wants to get back into the team for the last few games of the season following his three-match ban so he can gain the valuable experience playing first-team football he needs.
He told Footymad: "It was disappointing getting sent off especially so early into my spell here but I owe it to myself to get back into the team so I have been working hard in training and I am aiming to get back in for Saturday’s game. It can be difficult coming into a club on loan but if you look at most of the young Premiership players, you do want to play games and get experience."
Wednesday have not won now in six games and are going through a torrid spell at the wrong time of the season, but Bruce believes that if Wednesday stay positive, then the wins will come.
He added: "We have to go into each game as it comes and if you think of your previous form when you go into games then you pile pressure upon yourselves. We have to go into the Hull game and do our best, hopefully pick up the result but with the quality players what we have got; it’s only a matter of time until we turn things around.
"It is good news that everyone around us lost on Saturday but we were still disappointed with our performance, we only got one point when we needed three. No disrespect to Stockport but with them already relegated, you would have liked to have picked three points up especially being at home."
