On Monday morning Scotland announced their squad for the latest round of international matches and 3 Sheffield Wednesday players were included.
Head coach Gordon Strachan named midfielder Barry Bannan and strikers Jordan Rhodes & Steven Fletcher in his group as Scotland are set to play a friendly later this month followed by a crucial World Cup qualifying match.
The international break comes after the next full found of league fixtures this weekend with Wednesday facing a key clash with Reading on Friday. Following that game the trio will link up with the international team mates as they prepare to face Canada on 22nd March and then the crunch game against Slovenia on 26th March with both games taking place in Scotland. Anything less than a win against Slovenia is likely to all but end the home sides hopes of reaching the 2018 World Cup.
