Sheffield Wednesday have retained the services of Jamaican winger Jermaine Johnson as the club confirmed via their official website, www.swfc.co.uk that he has signed a one year extension at Hillsborough.
Owls boss Gary Megson offered new deals to 3 out of contract players at the end of last season and he will be delighted with the fact that Johnson has joined Lewis Buxton and James O’Connor in committing his future to the club.
JJ has made over 150 appearances for the Owls in 4 years at S6 and his decision to stay at the club will be a boost to many as there had been speculation linking him with a move to a number of Championship clubs.
Johnson, who celebrated his 31st birthday this week, has been criticised in the past for his consistency and decision making when in promising positions but he certainly possesses the weapons to be a real threat at this level and if he can hone certain aspects of his game he could be a real asset to the Owls in the forthcoming season.
