Live cup game results in changes of dates
Two of Sheffield Wednesday's early Championship fixtures have been rearranged due to the Owls live appearance on Sky Sports in the 1st round of the Carabao Cup. Wednesday travel to Sunderland on Thursday 16th August and as a result of that fixture their league game at Brentford that was due to take place on Saturday 18th August will now be played 24 hours later on Sunday 19th.
This has also had a knock-on effect on the Owls home game against Millwall. The game against the Lions was originally scheduled for Tuesday 21st August but will now be played at 7.45pm on Wednesday 22nd August at Hillsborough.
Jos Luhukay's side kick-off their 2018-19 season away to newly promoted Wigan Athletic on Saturday 4th August.
